So Long Summer...

Well it certainly is nice to be back home. Although it seems like most of my summer was spent up north visiting friends and family it’s nice that in California the warmest month of the year is September. So I’ve been enjoying a late sort of summer readjusting to being back at work and planning for the months to come.
In August I had the opportunity to go to a 4 day DTS conference in Lakeside, Montana. It was such a wonderful time of being with fellow YWAM DTS staff, and learning with them, and enjoying some amazing hospitality. I was a little sad to have to throw out my beef jerky at the border but all in all my drive down to the U.S from Calgary was wonderful. I was alone on the way down and got to take my time visiting a few towns in the Crowsnest pass, taking some self-portraits, and stopping in Fernie for some quiet time with God by a beautiful stream.
God really reignited my heart for DTS during the conference. There were so many times speakers would teach and I was wishing I had had this wisdom before staffing the last school, but alas, better late than never. I feel all the more equipped and empowered to lead the upcoming January 08 Creative Arts and Justice DTS. I truly feel like I am in such a blessed season in my life. I have the opportunity to disciple young people who have set aside five months of their lives for that specific purpose. It is an important mandate for me and I am privileged that God would use me for his glory.
Please continue to pray for our base as we will be seeing an expansion in our DTS programs this winter. We will be hosting two schools simultaneously. Our desire is to have 15 students per school. Please pray that God would move in the hearts of the young people all across the world that He would have attend these schools. Please also pray for our new and returning DTS staff as we undergo a mutual training and preparation week this November.
It was so nice to visit with some of you this summer! Thank you for your warm hospitality, kind words or encouragement, prayers, and generosity. May God bless you richly as you continue following Him.

P.S. We also celebrated my parents 30th wedding anniversary! We took them out to a beautiful dinner. I love you ma and pa!
